首届「China TDC - 文字设计在中国」系列活动，将于本月23日在深圳市南山博物馆隆重开幕！

 

China TDC，即Typographic Design in China，是深圳市平面设计协会继「GDC - 平面设计在中国」之后，倾力打造的另一个国际性设计盛会。目前全球以TDC命名的文字设计专业活动包括美国New York TDC（纽约字体指导俱乐部）、德国TDC和日本Tokyo TDC（东京字体指导俱乐部），它们均在不同角度建立了广泛的影响力。China TDC的举办，宣告全球第四个「TDC」、同时也是首个中文语境「TDC」主题盛会的诞生！

中国深圳市是全球第六个获得「设计之都」称号的城市，由深圳市政府打造的首届深圳设计周也将于2017年4月举办，成为常设性的国际设计盛会。

 

China TDC 2017作为深圳设计周的重要单元，将于2017年4月23日在深圳市南山博物馆拉开帷幕，此次系列活动将以更高的国际视野，提高深圳作为「设计之都」的国际地位，探讨文字设计和城市、文化、生活的关系。并通过国际邀请展、文献展、学术论坛、设计师交流等多种形式，立足深圳，引入国际设计资源，推动国际设计界及华人社会对视觉艺术、信息传达与文字设计的联通。

 

 

 

Shenzhen is the sixth city acquired the name of Capital of Design, which was authorized by UNESCO in 2008. The first Shenzhen Design Week (Organized by Shenzhen Municipal Government) will hold the grand opening on April, 2017, which will become an annual international design conference.

 

As an important component of Shenzhen Design Week, Shenzhen TDC (Typographic Designin China) 2017 will be holding its grand opening at Shenzhen Nanshan Museum on April 23rd, 2017. The series of activities will improve Shenzhen's international status as the City of Design on a higher international perspective while we discuss about the relationship between typography andcity, culture and life. We introduce the international design resources and promote the industry of visual communication and typography among Chinese and international community based in Shenzhen by having the global invitational exhibition, literature document exhibition, lectures, panel discussions, and networking events among designers etc.

文字的发明是人类发展史上最伟大的设计。

 

文字是传达信息的代码，按一定形式所构成。以图造字，从甲骨文时代就开始了。至今，文字的结构依旧符合图形审美的原则。

 

在视觉传达设计中，平面设计师驾驭字体设计、字体应用、文字编排和版式设计的能力，对设计作品的整体艺术性起了至关重要的作用。

 

China TDC 2017「文字设计在中国」邀请展收录了中国内地及港澳台地区、欧美日韩等国约一百六十位活跃于平面设计领域的设计师提供的四百多件作品。佳作荟萃，展现了近几年华人地区乃至国际文字设计的面貌。

 

 

 

The written language is perhaps the most important invention in the history of human kind.

 

It was derived from conceptualized images,and this is especially true for the oracle bone script, which is the origin ofthe Chinese written language. 

 

The same aesthetic, where our words are aconceptualized form of images, has been inherited until now, affecting our decision in type design, font usage, as well as typesetting principle. All of these are essential skills that our typography designers need to master. Theorigin of the Chinese characters therefore plays a critical role in modern Chinese typography.

 

China TDC Invitational Exhibition includes Mainland China and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions. As well as Europe and the United States, Japan and South Korea and other countries about one hundred and sixty designers who are active in the area of graphic design to provide more than four hundred design works. All of these marvelous design works illustrated the appearance of typography from Chinese region towards the entire globe.

中国汉字源远流长，是迄今连续使用时间最长的文字。作为中国历代主要的书写字体，汉字经过真草隶篆等艺术化书写的发展以及刻印技术等，其流传至今也已臻完备。
 

 十九世纪中叶开始，汉字在应用上发生了巨大的变革，尤其在印制技术方面由传统雕版、石印再至铅活字的全面推广应用。二十世纪初，新文化运动的革新思想，也为中西文字体排印与设计产生影响；尤其在百花齐放的三十年代，字体应用与发展更是达到空前的高潮。抗战时期至新中国成立后直至二十世纪末期，字体应用亦随着时代的变化而呈现出各式特色；这百余年的字体创造与应用，实可作为当代字体研究的丰富宝藏。

 

本次文献展作为TDC「文字设计在中国」的组成部分，将透过大量的珍贵实物，较为全面地展现中国近现代在字体应用方面的风貌，期能以此作为当代文字在「设计实践」与「应用发展」的前鉴，并为当代文字的探索与发展提供崭新的思考。

 

 

 

With its rich history that can be dated back thousands of years, Chinese character is the oldest characters that is still in use in the world. As the major tool of communication throughout Chinese long history, Chinese characters have been mature and complete after experiencing artistic writing periods such ascursive, clerical seal and many other scripts. After all these transformations as well as the advancement in print technology, Chinese character has been perfected in many ways.

 

Starting from mid-nineteenth century, there had been a huge transformation in Chinese character’s application. Print techniques had been advanced from wood block printing, lithography, to movable type. In the early twentieth century, thesocial reforming thought of the New Culture Movement influenced the typesetting and printing technique of Chinese characters. In 1930s when new cultures andide as were blooming, the application and development of characters reached an unprecedented climax. From the WWII to the founding of the new China and to the late 20th century, there were more different features and styles emerged in the application of Chinese characters through the change of times. Creation and application through the past century are rich resources for contemporary typographic research.

 

As an important component of China TDC 2017 (Typographic Design in China), This document exhibition will comprehensively display the application of Chinese characters in modern age with abundant of precious materials and objects. We hope this can be a beginning of research in the design practice and application of contemporary characters and provide new thoughts and concepts for the exploration and development of contemporary characters.

As a component of "China TDC", the forum was created in hope ofstimulating type design across different cultural zones in this rapid changing world. To create a context that has both theory background as well as practical application, and to promote open view as well as professional research. Through communication and collaboration between international experts on type design, we hope this forum can be the breaking point of barriers between languages, and enable complete collaboration and research on type design as well as its future across borders.

深圳设计周

深圳设计周是由深圳市政府主办、市委宣传部（市设计之都推广办公室）组织、联合国教科文组织创意城市网络支持、国际设计理事会ico-D等国际专业设计机构、以及深圳市各设计行业协会、院校、机构协办的大型国际性设计盛会。

 

2017年首届深圳设计周将于4月21日 - 4月28日举行，邀请伦敦作为主宾城市，以“面向未来的设计”为主题，广邀来自全球20多个城市的超过200名设计师，包括伦敦、巴黎、赫尔辛基、柏林、蒙特利尔、底特律、首尔、名古屋、北京、上海等著名设计之都，到深圳进行展览、论坛、工作坊等多种设计、创意交流活动。届时将有2000多件作品在深圳全市范围内的5个场馆展开，充分展示深圳本土设计师的作品，覆盖平面、产品、时装、建筑、室内等不同领域。
